Thursday’s opponent, the New York Islanders, is the stingiest defensive team in the NHL, so puck management and patience will be at a premium as the Jets play the third game of this four-game homestand. Our team play aspect is what really took off. Defensively, as a team we’ve played better in that aspect and that helps you as an individual in that area. Connor Hellebucyk starts in goal for the Jets, while the Islanders counter with Robin Lehner. The Islanders aren’t expected to have forward Tanner Fritz in their lineup, which likely opens the door for Tom Kuhnackl.
