KOTA KINABALU: Another adult bull pygmy elephant has been found shot dead with its tusks missing, this time at a plantation in Beluran district, some 210km from here. Sabah Wildlife Department director Augustine Tuuga said the carcass of the pygmy elephant was discovered by plantation workers on Saturday (Oct 19) morning. "From what we know, the elephant was shot dead and had its two tusks removed," he said. The arrests also led to the seizure of five guns, including three homemade shotguns, 53 bullet shell casings, 59 live ammunition and two elephant tusks hidden in Felda Umas cooperative’s farm.
