Doctors at DMCH Burns Unit declared 28-year-old Masud Mia dead around 12:30pm on Sunday. It brings the death toll in Wednesday’s fire in the district town to three. Burns Unit’s Resident Physician Partha Shankar Paul said Mia, who was an employee at the fuel depot that caught fire, had suffered 90 percent burns. An oil tanker burst into flames at the town's Bangabandhu Road on Wednesday midnight, when it was delivering fuel to a depot. Three others— Mizanur Rahman, 50, Badha Mia, 50, and Delwar Bhuiyan, 35, — are still being treated at the DMCH Burns Unit.
