Another Assam armyman asked to prove his citizenship


GUWAHATI: An armyman from Assam , who served as a havildar for 18 years, and his wife have been asked to prove their citizenship by a foreigners' tribunal in Barpeta district of the state. He has been asked to appear in court on November 6. Later, Assam DGP Mukesh Sahay had said that it was a case of mistaken identity.Ahmed, who joined the Army in 1986, has served in various places across the country. Husaniara was born at Howly in Barpeta district in 1972 and the name of her parents featured on the voters' list of 1966. Assam DGP Mukesh Sahay has asked Barpeta SP Shiladitya Chetia for a probe.
