The former yoga teacher ran a cult dubbed 'The Family', which raised a group of adopted children in preparation for an apocalyptic war. She kept at least 14 children in the community, bleaching their hair blonde and giving them identical haircuts. The children, who were taught to regard as the reincarnation of Jesus Christ, were all given her surname and told to behave as siblings. The children were told they should talk to the workmen but act 'retarded', to make them think it was a special school.
