The live export of 3300 cattle to China is planned this weekend from Port Taranaki - the second similar shipment since the end of January this year. In January, about 40 protesters gathered near Port Taranaki to demonstrate against about 4000 cattle being exported to China. The latest export plans were announced in a press release from Port Taranaki on Friday, catching animal welfare group Safe, and others, off guard.
