Other judges on the bench were Federal Court judges Justices Vernon Ong Lam Kiat, Abdul Rahman Sebli, Zabariah Mohd Yusof and Abang Iskandar Abang Hashim. When met by reporters, lawyer Tengku Fuad Tengku Ahmad, who represented Anifah, said his client respected the court’s decision. On Nov 19,2018, Election Court judge Supang Lian had struck out Karim’s election petition. On Feb 18,2019, the Federal Court remitted Karim’s election petition back to the Election Court for trial after allowing his appeal to set aside the Election Court’s earlier decision to strike out his (Karim’s) petition. Anifah appealed to set aside the decision but it was dismissed by a different five-man panel at the Federal Court on Dec 2,2019.
