Online consumer reviews site Angie's List will be acquired by IAC in a deal valued at over $500 million, the companies said on Monday. IAC, which owns sites like Match.com, Tinder and The Daily Beast, will merge Angie's List with its own reviews site HomeAdvisor. The newly combined, publicly-traded company will be named ANGI Homeservices and both the Angie's List and HomeAdvisor brands will be retained. IAC has previously offered to buy Angie's List in 2015, but the proposal was rejected. Angie's List said the price was too low and it wanted to see how Durchslag's profitable growth plan played out.
