Andy Ibáñez’s go-ahead pinch hit single exemplifies resilient comeback win for Rangers

Ibáñez hit a two-out, two-RBI single up the middle off one of the American League’s best relievers to break the tie and set up the Rangers’ 8-5 comeback win over the Oakland A’s on Friday. Dennis Santana also had a perfect inning of relief for his first career save – something that wouldn’t have been possible without Ibáñez’s clutch pinch hit. So he pinch hit Ibáñez for Eli White and hoped Ibáñez would not only make contact, but find a hole. Lowe then bounced back with a home run in the ninth inning of Thursday’s win before he had three hits on Friday, including a single in the ninth that put the go-ahead run on third base. His last hit scored Ibáñez after Ibáñez had the go-ahead hit.
