Android beats Microsoft as most popular operating systemMore people now use Android to access the internet than Windows, according to new figures. StatCounter has reported Android beat Windows by 0.02 of a percentage point to be the most popular operating system for browsing online. Apple's iOS operating system was third with 13.09 per cent. Google’s software has overtaken Windows as the internet’s most used operating system. "It marks the end of Microsoft's leadership worldwide of the operating system market which it's held since the 1980s," chief executive Aodhan Cullen said in a statement.
