OTTAWA — Conservative leader Andrew Scheer has named a Liberal who crossed the floor in 2018 as his deputy leader, part of an effort to broaden his appeal among voters in the crucial Greater Toronto Area. He also promoted Ontario MP Leona Alleslev, who crossed the floor 14 months ago, to deputy leader in the wake of a lacklustre election result in the Toronto region.
