Andrew King has been confirmed as Hamilton's new mayor, but by an even closer margin than before. Hamilton City Council said a final count had put King only nine votes ahead of his rival Paula Southgate. A provisional count after polls closed on Saturday had King at 8676 votes after 33,280 votes were counted.
