Preliminary results released Sunday morning have King provisionally elected mayor with 8676 votes - only 14 votes ahead of nearest rival Paula Southgate. If confirmed mayor, King would focus on investing in infrastructure to allow more greenfield development on the city's fringes. If elected mayor, she would "put light under Hamilton's biggest priorities" and would work to strengthen the city's communities.
