Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that the 17 civilians, who were trapped with militants in a house in Dailgam area of Anantnag district, have been rescued. Earlier, cross-firing between security forces and militants had taken place in Anantnag district, and two civilians, including a woman, were killed after they were hit with bullets near the encounter site during clashes. At least 10 civilians sustained injuries during the clashes which started soon after security forces started the encounter operation against the militants. The encounter started at around 6 am.
