Tony Okafor, AwkaThe Anambra state governor, Chief Willie Obiano on Wednesday received a certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission for his victory in the November 18 election in the state. The event took place at the INEC Secretariat in Awka, the state capitalObiano won the election with 234, 071 votes. Speaking, Obiano thanked those who made the election a success, especially President Muhammadu Buhari, who he said did not interfere in the electoral processes. He assured the people of the state that he would not fail in the confidence reposed in him. “We are going to make sure that Anambra continues to shine, I and my deputy are not going to fail the people of Anambra; we are going to work harder in making sure that our victory would not be in vain”.
