Ebenezer BajelaFormer Super Eagles defender Chikelue Iloenyosi and Aspire FC owner Dr Emeka Okeke are set to contest for the chairmanship position of the Anambra FA on Friday (today). The Anambra FA has been enmeshed in crisis after a controversial election on August 2 returned incumbent Senator Ifeanyi Ubah as chairman of the football body. The Nigeria Football Federation however annulled the election the following day, saying the Anambra State COVID-19 Task Force had written them requesting that the election be postponed. “That (election) was an act of brigandage and the NFF fully disassociate itself from it,” Chairman of Chairmen of Nigerian Football, Ibrahim Gusau, said in a statement on August 3. The federation then set up a caretaker committee, headed by Okeke, to conduct fresh elections into the state FA board.
