She received a warm reception up on arrival at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. Berhanu Nega, Chairman of Ginbot 7 ,one of Ethiopia’s biggest opposition party, showed up at Bole International Airport to receive her. Since then, Ana Gomes had been adding voice in the struggle for democracy and press freedom in Ethiopia. For that reason she is, it is noticeable, popular among a considerable number of politicized Ethiopians that she is even given an Ethiopian name – Hanna Gobeze.
