The UAE flag was raised on the peak of the Atlas Mountains after an all-female team climbed Mount Toubkal in Morocco on the 3rd of May, Arabian Business reported Thursday. The mountain is 4,167 meters above sea level and the team, made up of ten Emirati women, qualified to climb it on the 14th of April after scaling Jebel Jais Mountain, the highest peak in the UAE at a height of 1,900 meters. Arriving in Morocco on April 28, along with two supervisors from the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy (FMBA), who organized and supported the adventure, the team began their climb and eventually succeeded in reaching the peak and raising the UAE flag on the highest mountain in North Africa. In an Instagram post detailing the experience, Amal Lootah, a civil engineer and one of the ten climbers wrote, "climbing the highest peak in North Africa was one of the many things I wanted to achieve in life, and I accomplished it." Stepfeed reached out to Lootah for comment, but we haven't heard back from her yet.
