The victim, Louis Barbati, 61, an owner of L&B Spumoni Gardens, was shot twice in the torso outside 7601 12th Avenue in the Dyker Heights neighborhood around 7 p.m., the police said. She said she heard Mr. Barbati’s wife screaming, “He got shot! Donna Padmore, 56, of East New York, a home health aide who works across the street from Mr. Barbati’s home, said she heard three or four shots. Shootings are rare in the 68th Precinct, Eric L. Adams, the Brooklyn borough president, said in an interview Thursday night.
