An FCC regulator wants TikTok removed from app stores. Here's how a company executive responded

New York (CNN) While TikTok's short-form videos are entertaining, that's "just the sheep's clothing," a Federal Communications Commission official said, and the app should be removed from app stores because of security issues. But a TikTok executive, in a rare interview on CNN's "Reliable Sources" on Sunday, claimed there are no security concerns linked to the hugely successful app. The short-form video app is the most downloaded in the world, beating Instagram with 3.5 billion downloads. Users spend an average of at least 46 minutes a day on the app, sending it storming past its competition. On the surface, TikTok is certainly lighthearted, allowing users to share content including dance videos and cooking tutorials.
