The Rastriya Swatantra Party, with rapper-turned-mayor Balendra Shah as its prime minister candidate, is set for a two-thirds parliamentary majority. The idea of a Madhesi prime minister in the capital was unimaginable even 10 years ago. Prime Minister Modi has issued a warm statement of support to Nepal following the current election.
