An ETF That Tracks Happy Customers


That’s the thinking behind American Customer Satisfaction Core Alpha ETF (ACSI), a $17 million fund launched in November. The company that runs the ETF, ACSI Funds, takes data from the American Customer Satisfaction Index—a measure of customer satisfaction based on surveys with more than 100,000 U.S. consumers annually. It then uses this raw data to form the American Customer Satisfaction Investable Index, which the ETF tracks. “Ultimately the driver of a company’s earnings are the customers,” Mr. Bak says. The ETF is designed for people who would otherwise be investing in more traditional large-cap funds, Mr. Bak says.
