James Doole spent a long time trying to decide exactly what he was going to do to transform a very ordinary 1990s Auckland townhouse into his dream home. "At night I'd go to bed and dream about every single space." Despite the rundown state of the house with tricky access via a steep driveway, James was instantly drawn to it. "Often I like white spaces but I've gone darker and moodier in my personal aesthetic in the last few years," says James.
