Awami League Advisory Council Member Amir Hossain Amu said a Canadian court has labelled Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) as a terrorist organisation. The industries minister said the Canadian court made the observation while dismissing an application for judicial review of a Bangladeshi national, who is also an activist of the BNP. Amu also said the Canadian court observed that there are reasonable grounds to believe that the BNP is, or was, a terrorist organisation. “BNP unleashed terrorist acts in Bangladesh by calling hartals, which created significant economic disruption, as well as incidents of violence,” the minister said quoting the court verdict. Bangladesh Awami League organised the discussion on the occasion of Amar Ekushey and the International Mother Language Day.
