Amosun proposes N345.42b budget for 2018


Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun has presented a budget of N345.42 billion to the State House of Assembly, with the assurance that it would be implemented in furtherance of his administration’s rebuilding mission. The Budget of Accelerated Development has N223.72 billion as capital expenditure, representing 64.77 per cent, while N121.698 billion or 35.23 per cent is for earmarked for recurrent expenditure. Presenting the budget, Amosun said it was 57 per cent higher than the 2017 budget, adding that the emphasis on capital projects in 2018 was due to the fact that the administration was building a greater momentum into the end of the tenure. “We have placed great emphasis on capital projects to accelerate the development of our state. We must continue to develop infrastructure that supports industry, improve road connectivity in our agricultural areas, as well as between our agricultural belts and urban markets.
