Near Malattaru ParkAnother public toilet has been built near Malattaru Park on Amma Mandapam Road at a cost of Rs.15 lakh. In an attempt to improve sanitation in and around Amma Mandapam bathing ghat and to check open defecation on the Cauvery river bank, the City Corporation has opened a public toilet near the ghat. Vellamandi N. Natarajan, Minister for Tourism, and S.Valarmathi, Minister for Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare, declared open the toilets in the presence of A. Jaya, Mayor, P. Kumar, MP, and N.S. 25 lakh and it will function round-the-clock for the benefit of devotees taking bath at the ghat. Both the toilets have been made accessible for persons with disabilities.
