Amit Shah clarifies government’s ‘lukewarm’ attitude to Tripura

With just one week left before the Tripura legislative assembly polls, BJP President Amit Shah has responded to an allegation that the BJP-led government’s attitude in providing funds to the northeast state of India is ‘lukewarm’. “Tripura received Rs7,283 crore under the 13th finance commission of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government. Tripura’s leftist government had recently alleged that the Modi government was ‘lackadaisical’ when it came to the matter of allotting funds to Tripura. Taking on Tripura Chief Minister (CM) Manik Sarkar, Shah said: “I’ve learnt the CM has been alleging that the BJP government at the centre is not providing fund to the state. Meanwhile, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday also unveiled BJP’s election manifesto at the party headquarters in Tripura.
