Weather forecasting gear from the America’s Cup could be used to predict high winds on the Auckland Harbour Bridge – helping avoid a repeat of last year’s damage and traffic chaos caused by toppled trucks. The technology, known as the Auckland Model, forecasts weather on a much finer scale than other models in New Zealand.
