Team New Zealand's defence of the America's Cup in the 37th regatta is still to unfold. Members of Team New Zealand have hit back at Mark Dunphy, accusing him of compromising their attempts to defend the America’s Cup and describing his call for the head of syndicate boss Grant Dalton as “mind-boggling”. RNZ RNZ’s podcast The Detail: Looking back on the 2021 America's Cup, was it worth staging the world's oldest yacht race here? They noted that Dunphy had made one phone call to Dalton and had refused to meet with the team management or their board. Team New Zealand and the Royal New Zealand are set to announce the host of the next America’s Cup on September 17.
