After months of negotiation the much-criticized owner of Marseille football club Margarita Louis-Dreyfuss has finally agreed to sell up to American entrepreneur and former owner of Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team Frank McCourt. The deal was officially announced on Monday and will be greeted with relief by Marseille fans who have long wanted Dreyfuss out of the club. The 63-year-old McCourt, the new majority shareholder of the club, had been in long negotiations to buy the club. During the summer Marseille sold several key players for big money in order to re-balance the books before the arrival of the American.
