Ambode made the call while speaking at the first quarterly meeting of Lagos State National Inter-Religious Council (NIREC). Present at the Forum were both Christian and Muslim leaders drawn from the 57 Local Governments (LGs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs). He urged religious leaders to support his administration and work to ensure that peace continues to reign in the state, saying peace was critical to uninterrupted development of the state. Governor Ambode, while noting that since he became governor, the state had not witnessed any religious crisis due to the support and cooperation of religious leaders, said this was why they must continue to work with him so that peace continued to reign be in Lagos. He also told the religious leaders to use their position to engage the people and give the state government feedbacks.
