The police have decided not to use recently introduced signal controllers until enabling them with amber indicator in addition to red and green signals. The mini signal controllers will be made into use after enabling provision for turning on amber indication (warning signal) while switching between red and green. “When introduced, the signal controller had only provision for turning on red and green signals. Turning red or green signal all of a sudden might create confusion among motorists. They will be used after enabling provision for amber lighting,” said M. Durai, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic).
