'Alarm bells' were ringing at Amber Peat's school just months before she was found hanged in a hedgerow, the hearing was told. The inquest has heard she was also made to wear baggy tracksuit bottoms to school because she forgot to wash her school clothes. However, on neither occasion was Amber’s case escalated to the level of formal social care involvement, the hearing was told today. But the inquest was told the case didn’t pass a “threshold” that would have triggered statutory social services intervention.
