E-commerce major Amazon on Thursday launched a new tablet in the US. Named the Fire 7, the tablet only costs $49.99 (about ₹3,500) and starts shipping on June 6. Amazon’s Fire tablets have a major advantage of offering easy access to Amazon’s ecosystem of products, including its Alexa voice assistant, Prime Video, Prime Music, the company’s app store and Amazon.com. The Fire 7 is essentially a revamped version of a tablet of the same name launched by Amazon in 2017. Given the fact that the base variant of the iPad Mini starts at ₹48,900, the Fire 7 seems like a very compelling proposition for most users.
