In its short yet illustrious lifetime it has been the reserve of Facebook and Google. In 2018 Amazon became the third largest digital advertising platform in the US. By 2020 the platform plans on increasing its share of total digital ad spend in the US from the current 4% to 7%. In 2020, Facebook and Google will still receive 56% of total digital ad spending (eMarketer.) In addition, growth of the digital ad market is forecast to slow down from 17.7% in 2018 to 8.6% in 2021.
