Ronald HoldenAmazon is getting into the custom-label wine business by partnering with the venerable King Estate Winery in Oregon, which has created a new division, NEXT, to produce the wines. King Estate's NEXT will sell two single-variety wines, a $20 Pinot Gris, and a $40 Pinot Noir on Amazon, alongside a $30 red blend. Amazon's brand manager for NEXT is Nick Loeffler, a ten-year Amazon veteran, who owns Sonrisa Vineyard in the Rattlesnake Hills growing region of eastern Washington. "Amazon Wine provides a convenient destination for customers to shop a vast selection of high quality and every day wine brands,” Loeffler said. “We’re thrilled to connect wineries, like King Estate, with millions of customers and give them an innovative format to launch new brands."
