Amazon is planning to build physical shops across the South in an assault on our struggling high streets. The online giant has invited bids from potential partners to find retail space for its Amazon Go stores, according to documents seen by the Daily Mail. There are nine of the shops in the US, selling ready-to-eat food and take-home meal kits. The US shops are in city centre locations – if Amazon pursues a similar strategy in the UK, they would likely be on major high streets.
