Amazon angers India with 'indifference' to national iconTWITTER Jandals with Mahatma Gandhi's face on them have been removed by Amazon. Online retail giant Amazon has caused outrage after first selling Indian flag doormats and then selling jandals that had the face of Mahatma Gandhi on them. Last week India demanded Amazon apologise for selling doormats with the Indian flag on them. Swaraj tweeted that if Amazon did not remove the doormats then no Amazon staff would be allowed in India. In India desecration of the Indian flag was punishable with fines and imprisonment.
