Right now, Amazon Studios COO Albert Cheng is acting as the interim chief, while Amazon’s Sharon Tal Yguado and Heather Schuster have been promoted to lead the scripted and unscripted divisions, respectively. “Amazon has a reputation as a tough place to work and among the women of Fairygodboss, Amazon gets very mixed reviews,” says Huang. It might help programming to have some more female influence at Amazon, which hasn’t had a breakout hit for quite sometime. Creators like Judd Apatow have recently created shows with strong female storylines like Girls and Love.
