Aman Fissehatsion, the founder and Chief Executive of EBS Television in Ethiopia, has sadly passed away after a period of illness, according to a statement from the network. The broadcaster confirmed on Wednesday that Aman passed away while undergoing medical treatment. “Although today we mourn his loss as a family and as a network, Aman’s vision will endure,” the statement highlighted. Connecting the DiasporaEstablished in 2008, EBS (Ethiopian Broadcasting Service) is renowned for transforming satellite television for Ethiopians worldwide. Under Aman’s guidance, the station shifted its programming focus to lifestyle, entertainment, and cultural content, moving away from the heavily state-centric news cycles that had long characterised Ethiopian media.
