Toronto FC confirmed on Wednesday that forward Jozy Altidore suffered a quad injury Sunday in its match against the Columbus Crew, but did not say how serious the injury is. “He will be receiving treatment and therapy and we are doing everything possible to get him back on the field as soon as possible,” a statement from TFC said. Altidore, 29, reportedly underwent an MRI test on Monday and will not play for the U.S. National team in Nations League games against Cuba and Canada. The match against Canada is Oct.15 at BMO Field. The Livingston, N.J., native injured his quad when he was taken down in the box in the 70th minute in the 1-0 victory over the Crew.
