Photo: Fire and Emergency NZThe latest group of Kiwi firefighters which is being led by a Canterbury man were welcomed with applause from the public as they touched down in Australia on Wednesday night. This latest group of firefighters takes the number of Kiwi crew members sent across the Tasman to help to 179 since October. He said he is feeling nervous about heading across the Tasman this time, in spite of doing 10 deployments to Australia throughout his career. The fires in Australia have been burning since September.
