Taekwondo jin and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympian Kirstie Elaine Alora was named the country’s flag bearer in the coming 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. “[I am] shocked and of course, l’m thankful because it is a great honor for me, to my family and taekwondo family,” said Alora in a phone interview with The Manila Times on Saturday. “I just want to perform very well and win a medal this coming SEA Games,” added Alora, who will be competing in the women’s under 73kg division in her seventh SEA Games campaign. Alora has collected three gold and two silver medals in the biennial meet. Alora, meanwhile, will lead the women’s side along with Pauline Louise Lopez, Jocel Lyn Ninobla, Juvenille Faye Crisostomo, and Rinna Babanto.
