Almost 85% of the food adulteration cases, majorly relating to milk and dairy products, are pending since 2011 in courts in Bhind district, where an inter-State racket involved in adulterating milk and dairy products was busted recently, reveals an RTI reply. On July 19, the State Food and Drug Administration Department and a Special Task Force raided units manufacturing synthetic milk and dairy products in Bhind and Morena districts. Forty-two cases in Bhind district relate to adulteration of milk and dairy products such as milk powder, mawa and paneer. Moreover, another 37 cases of adulteration are being investigated including one in which the Madhya Pradesh government is the accused party. 30 lakh were seized in a raid conducted at a milk godown in the district the same day.
