After 18 months of insisting it would to return, BNZ has finally admitted it is quitting its principal Wellington building. ROSS GIBLIN/STUFF Opened in 2009, BNZ Harbour Quays was closed for months after the 2013 earthquake, and has sat empty since the November 2016 earthquake. The bank returned to the building months later, but BNZ Harbour Quays suffered more damage in the November 2016 earthquake. The nearby Statistics House, headquarters of Statistics New Zealand, partially collapsed in the November 2016 earthquake and has since been demolished.
