Supornchai, who was nabbed on Wednesday based on DNA evidence, confessed because he was confronted with clearly incriminating evidences, which are sufficient to prosecute him even without a crime re-enactment, Theerapol said. Police were also worried that the angry crowd at the re-enactment scenes might attack the suspect and escorting police officers, he admitted. A group of 60 people, led by the murder victim's relatives, had showed up at the Ban Pho Police Station on Thursday afternoon to demand that the officers bring the suspect to perform a crime re-enactment and apologise before the girl's body. They even suggested to bring the girl's body to the precinct for the suspect to apologise in front of everyone. The protest went on for hours until Theerapol patiently explained the law and promised to proceed with the investigation carefully and fast.
