Allan Russell left Scotland for America in 2010 and to say that the Aberdeen assistant coach has returned with an enhanced reputation would be an understatement. The former Kilmarnock, Airdrie United and Partick Thistle forward is considered the world’s number one strikers coach and his new role at Pittodrie as Stephen Glass’s number two is just the latest step in a fascinating coaching career. Russell left Kilmarnock for Carolina Railhawks where he struck up a friendship with Glass over a decade ago. In 2014 he retired from playing to focus on his company, Superior Striker. His first client was Andre Gray, then of Burnley, and after working individually with a number of other strikers in the Premier League, he caught the attention of England manager
