The Uber driver told New Idea: '(Karl) said she didn't have enough opinions and he wanted her to step up. But it wasn't just Karl venting his frustrations as Peter also took aim at colleagues - including longtime Nine News journalist Mark Burrows, who Peter claimed 'looks down on him'. Over the weekend, Peter and Karl offered a pre-emptive apology for the phone conversation in a statement to The Sunday Telegraph.
