After winning its first 50-over game of the season last week, Marist was smashed back to earth by Invercargill Old Boys at Queens Park on Saturday. Jeremy Boyle was the main provider with 36 runs. Old Boys took just 13 overs to reach the total with eight wickets to spare. Waikoikoi left-arm spinner Hamish Cooke then took five wickets for 15 runs as Appleby was bundled out for 150. Metropolitan versus Southland Boys High School was postponed until the end of the month, due to SBHS being away at the Willows in Christchurch.
