KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry wants all types of schools to be placed under its purview, which will allow certification of fitness for buildings and facilities. Deputy Education Minister Datuk P. Kamalanathan said it was compulsory for every school under the ministry to receive safety approval from the fire and rescue department as well as occupancy permit. Kamalanathan said the proposal to streamline schools in the country had been forwarded to the cabinet. “Some schools are not registered with the ministry. “We have been pushing for all schools to be parked under the ministry.
